Day-to-day running of PBW will now move to the Oxford Centre for Byzantine Research, while retaining links with Kings’ for the server running its database and its technical support. It will remain integrated in the group of prosopographies and other digital projects based at King’s in the Department of Digital Humanities and the Centre for Hellenic Studies

The 2011 edition of PBW was released over this weekend, ready for the Byzantine Congress in Sofia. This small introductory website has been substantially rewritten and is part of the new material published.

A book arising from a PBW Colloquium held under the auspices of the British Academy was launched in the Council Room at King’s College: Judith Herrin and Guillaume Saint Guillain, Identities and allegiances in the Eastern Mediterranean after 1204, London (Ashgate) 2011. The book was presented by Judith Herrin with comments by Dr Serena Ferente. The launch was followed by an introduction to the 2011 edition of PBW by Michael Jeffreys.
